DOH-BAY OBSERVES NATIONAL CHILDREN’S DENTAL HEALTH MONTH WITH GRAND REOPENING CELEBRATION

February 11, 2020

Panama City, Fla.— February is National Children’s Dental Health Month. The Florida Department of Health in Bay County (DOH-Bay) offers services to Medicaid eligible patients one to 20 years of age at our Children’s Dentistry Clinic. We are excited to invite our clients, partners, and the community to see what our clinic has to offer.

“DOH-Bay staff members worked very hard to continue services following Hurricane Michael,” said Sandon S. Speedling, MHS, CPM, CPH, Administrator/Health Officer. “For months, they operated out of a mobile unit. Today, our clients have a welcoming office that allows us to better serve them.”

The grand reopening will be Tuesday, February 25 from 2 – 4 pm. The ribbon cutting by the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce will be at 4 pm. The address is 3518 East 15th Street, Panama City, FL 32401.

Bay County facilitated the repairs to the Children’s Dentistry Clinic. DOH-Bay is greatly appreciative of their efforts to restore and renew the building following Hurricane Michael’s devastation. DOH-Bay’s Children’s Dentistry clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Offices are closed for lunch from Noon to 1 pm.

Whether your child is a client of DOH-Bay or another provider, we want to make sure that their teeth last a lifetime. A healthy smile is important to a child’s overall health and their self-esteem. Teach your children to avoid cavities using the following advice:

  • Brushing their teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste
  • Cleaning between their teeth daily
  • Eating a healthy diet that limits sugary beverage and snacks
  • Seeing their dentist regularly for prevention and treatment of oral disease
