The Florida Department of Health in Bay County (DOH-Bay) is issuing a rabies alert in Bay County in response to confirmed cases of rabies in two foxes that were killed in the Bayou George area north of the east end of John Pitts Road in Bay County on May 20, 2025 and on May 26, 2025. DOH-Bay is monitoring rabies among wild animals in the area. All residents and visitors should be aware that rabies is currently present in the wild animal population.
