The Florida Department of Health in Bay County's Emergency Preparedness Division is actively involved in planning and responding to the public health needs of the community in times of emergency or disaster.  The priorities of the Florida Department of Health in Bay County are to assure that delivery of essential medical and public health services are maintained or restored following a disaster and that assistance is provided to meet emergency needs of the affected population.

DOH-Bay Deploys Staff in Support of Hurricane Ian 

DOH-Bay has deployed a physician, nurses, and support staff to Lee and Sarasota Counties for two weeks to assist with Special Needs Shelter operations and environmental health assessments. DOH-Bay has also sent a trailer with donations for DOH employees in the affected region.
